Honest: Scottish Identity

This project was about Scottish Identity, so for this Mood Board I chose examples of how Scottish identity inspired me during the design process in assignment one and evidence of where it has inspired others.

The colour palette was presented using the work of a Scottish designer: Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1902, Ladderback chair with ashwood frame stained black, Scotland). It worked perfectly to capture the colour gradience scheme seen so far, alongside the fabric samples.

The garment is meant for a Spring/Summer season and during a recent Summer holiday in Portugal I came across a t-shirt designed and produced by local brand Tiffosi inspired by Scotland (alluding to the Edinburgh Festival). I opted to keep some of the sketches used during the design process right next to the mini top made from the pattern drafted in assignment two as a representation of the development of ideas so far.
